Arrest made in bakery robbery

KILLEEN, TX - Killeen police report making an arrest of a man wanted for the Wednesday robbery of the Sweet Eats Bakery and the roughing up of a female employee.

Twenty-one-year-old Roosevelt Jones IV was booked into the Bell County Jail with bond set at $150,000 on that charge, but apparently is also a suspect in another robbery.

Jones was initially picked up Thursday afternoon after the bakery was robbed at 7:45 a.m., with police told a man had come in, displayed a weapon and demanded the money.

During the robbery, a 54-year-old woman was assaulted and was later taken to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple with non life threatening injuries.

The robber got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Friday, a second set of charges was reviewed by the District Attorney's Office in which Jones was charged with the robbery of the Home Barber Shop at 216 North Fort Hood Street on Tuesday.
