WACO, Texas - Dozens showed up on Tuesday night for the seventh annual Tree of Angels Dedication.
The ceremony was held at The Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church in Waco.
People paid special tribute by placing an angel ornament on the Christmas tree in recognition of a crime victim.
"In times like these when we are dealing with holidays and remembering loved ones, it's very tough on holidays for people. And so, what we are hearing is it's very nice for people to come alongside of them and share the burden and hold up their arms with them and say 'We are here with you,'" says Pastor Kerry Burkley.
The Midway High School Choir was there to sing and local officials lit peace, hope, and love candles.
The tree full of angel ornaments will stand until the first or second week of January.
