COPPERAS COVE, TX - A 31-year-old Copperas Cove man is being held in the Coryell County Jail on numerous charges after striking someone with his car, then hitting other cars and objects.
Zachary Taylor Patton has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, terroristic threat, two counts of striking an unattended vehicle, and two counts of striking an object by the roadway.
Patton was arrested after police were called to what was reported as a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of East Avenue F just before midnight Wednesday.
When an officer got near the area he heard yelling and saw someone driving recklessly, striking a mailbox and the victim with his vehicle.
Another vehicle was hit and the driver left the area, moments later striking a utility pole at the intersection of South 2nd Street and East Business 190.
Patton was taken into custody moments after the crash.
The person hit was not seriously injured.
