Former WISD teacher indicted for child porn

WACO, TX - A McLennan County Grand Jury has returned a ten count indictment on charges of possession of child pornography against former Cedar Ridge Elementary School teacher Jeremy Luke Adler.

Adler was arrested in January  after the Texas Attorney General's Office conducted a search of Adler's home, finding several images of sexually exploited minors on an electronic device.

The investigation followed a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding uploaded images that were then traced to Adler's e-mail account.

He resigned from WISD when the investigation began.

"As soon as the Attorney General's officer notified us that they were serving the search warrant to assist them with the investigation, but to also work towards making sure Mr. Adler wasn't in his teaching position anymore," said Waco ISD Communications Director Kyle Debeer.

Waco ISD also says an extensive background check is done on all incoming teachers.

Debeer said. "It includes a fingerprint check. Obviously, there was nothing in the background process that raised any red flags."

Woodway Police say he was also charged with possession of a controlled substance after several items believed to be narcotics were located in the home.
