WACO, TX - Work on Lake Shore Drive began Monday morning, with City of Waco street crews beginning work near Hillcrest Drive.
The resurfacing work is expected to take about two weeks and will result in portions of Lake Shore being reduced to one lane, causing possible delays.
Work began on the northbound lanes first, in the area between Hillcrest and Wooded Acres followed by northbound lanes at Park Lake Drive.
Eventually work will continue to the northbound lanes near Village Green and MacArthur Drive.
A city statement says additional lanes will be evaluated and worked after further assessment.
This work is being done "in house" rather than contracted out.
