Officer hospitalized, man arrested at gas station

TEMPLE, Texas - A Temple police officer has been hospitalized after responding to a scene at a gas station.

The incident happened at the CEFCO located at 605 N. 3rd Street, according to the Temple Police Department.

The officer responded to a situation involving a man and a welfare situation, which began inside the store before going outside.

However, due to medical issues, the officer felt sick and was taken to the hospital via ambulance. No injuries have been reported.

The man with the welfare check was restrained and arrested on a warrant out of Bell County. He was charged with resisting arrest. Officers say he was trespassing, but this charge was later dropped.
