Railroad bridge construction to cause road closures

TEMPLE, Texas - The Northbound Exit #303-A/Spur 290/Industrial Boulevard will be closing overnight on Thursday, from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The contractor will be demolishing a portion of the old railroad bridge over Interstate 35.

In order to perform this work, the third northbound mainlane between Nugent Avenue and Exit #303-A (the Spur 290/Industrial Blvd. exit), and the northbound frontage road under the railroad bridge will be closed. Flaggers will be stationed on the northbound frontage to direct local travelers safely through the area.

For drivers needing to access the Spur 290/Industrial Boulevard area on the southbound side, a detour will direct them to Exit #304/N. Loop 363. After completing a U-turn by turning left onto N. Loop 363 and another left onto the southbound I-35 access road, travelers will be directed back to Spur 290/Industrial Blvd.

The southbound-to-northbound turnaround at Industrial Boulevard will remain open to allow travelers access to the area around Baker Boulevard. Travelers are encouraged to obey all warning and detour signs in the construction area. Please see maps below for additional details.
