TEMPLE, TX - Whether you celebrate it or not, love was in the air on Wednesday.
That was especially true for one lucky St. Mary's Catholic School educator. Lana Shadburn is the Director of Development and an Art teacher at the school in Temple.
On Valentine's Day, she was told to make her way to the school's cafeteria where a very special surprise awaited her.
"Hello Lana, we have a special Valentine's Day gift for you from your husband," said Amanda Garcia with Singing Telegrams of Central Texas.
Lana's husband Robbie surprised her at work with a singing telegram of the song "My Girl."
"It's just really nice to have someone serenade you and sing a song to you and she's so awesome," said Shadburn.
"I love people's reactions, I love how happy they are, I love seeing people cry, I love seeing people laugh and have joy and feel special because everybody needs that you know," said Garcia.
Amanda has been bringing that kind of happiness to many in Central Texas.
"If someone serenaded me, I'd probably be the worst reaction, i'd be like 'oh my gosh'," said Garcia.
She and her guitarist Iquern Rodruiguez know dozens of songs, and it doesn't stop at Valentine's Day.
"We also do Mother's Day, that's another big one for us, but we do all year long for birthday's, anniversaries, just because, any kind of gift you need, we got it," said Garcia.
If they don't know the song, they'll learn it.
"We have a good selection, but people can always, if they don't find something on our list, if they request it ahead of time, we can always learn it," said Garcia.
All. to bring smiles on special days.
"I loved it, I loved it, it was so sweet and just so thoughtful," said Shadburn.
