CORSICANA, TX - A reckless driver attracted attention of law enforcement leading to the recovery of weapons, ammunition and various drugs and the arrest of the driver.
In a joint release, Navarro County Sheriff's Office and Corsicana police report they ahd received a complaint about a reckless driver entering town on West Highway 31 Monday.
A Corsicana officer located the vehicle at the same time that a Navarro County deputy dropped in behind it.
The car was stopped on West Seventh and while the two law enforcement officers were talking with the driver, the deputy noticed a prescription pill bottle that did not have the driver's name on it, despite the fact that the driver said it belonged to him.
Another officer arrived and noticed a pistol in plain sight.
When it was checked, it was determined the weapon was stolen.
This lead to a search of the vehicle which resulted in them finding an AR-15 rifle with several loaded magazines, another handgun and body armor.
Several baggies of methamphetamine were found along with multiple baggies of material suspected of being MDMA or ecstacy.
The driver was arrested on multiple narcotics and weapons charges.
Thirty-eight-year-old Curtis Lloyd Perry was book into the Navarro County Jail.
