Lady Bears Prepare for Eighth-Straight Big 12 Title Game

Oklahoma City, OK - The Baylor Lady Bears will look to win their Seventh Big 12 Tournament Title in their last eight tries when they take on Texas, at 8:00pm at Chesapeake Energy Arena, in Oklahoma City.

The Lady Bears beat Texas in their other two meetings this season. This time around, however, the Lady Bears will be without senior guard Kristy Wallace, who score 17 and 23 in her two games against Texas this season. Texas Head Coach Karen Aston said Baylor hasn't missed a beat, despite losing one of their best players.

"I mean, if you base it on the last couple of games it doesn't look much like their team has missed a beat," Aston said. "So, again, we have the best offensive player in the league and the best defensive player in the league, so that's a pretty good combination that we have to try to compete against."

Kim Mulkey has won 17 of her last 18 games against Texas but says it's hard when you play someone 3 times in a season.

"It's no fun to play somebody again that you've already played in the league," she said. "It's percentages, it's, I guess you could just say, you know, it just happens. If you play somebody ten times and you win nine, but they win that one important game, well, don't play 'em ten times. It's tough. It's tough."

A win would give Baylor it's ninth Big 12 Tournament Title.
