Waco, TX - Baylor Baseball has won back-to-back games for the first time in 2018 after a 9-1 over UTA in Arlington on Tuesday night.
Ryan Leckich came on in relief going a career high 4.2 innings picking up his first career win.
"Every time I get to go out there and pitch it's a great day," he said. "I got to go out there and do my thing today and it was just awesome. If I go out there and get a couple of runs behind that, that's awesome. I just try to go out there and do my job and let my defense make plays behind me."
Leckich has now made four appearances this season allowing just three hits and striking out seven, showing he is a valuable weapon, to help get the ball in the hand of All American Closer, Troy Montemayor.
"He kept his pitch-count down which was great," Head Coach Steve Rodriguez said. "I was really happy with everything he did out there, and he's strung a couple of outings together right now that have been really quality."
Baylor currently ranks second in the Big 12 conference with a Team ERA of 2.90.
The Bears will open a seven game home stand beginning Friday when they host George Washington for three games this weekend.
