Arrest made in Bellmead hit and run crash

Bellmead Police report a 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a March hit and run crash which sent a man to the hospital.

Police had earlier identified Gregory Allen Griffin as a suspect in the crash and had obtained an arrest warrant for him.

McLennan County deputies found him and took him into custody about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

It was back on March 11 about 7:00 p.m. that Bellmead police were called to an accident that left a truck in the middle of an intersection.

One of the occupants was transported to a local hospital with injuries.

Police were told that a small black car had collided with the truck and had then left the scene.

The next day, a witness came to the police department with a tip on the vehicle that was involved.

Working from there, investigators were able to identify Griffin as  a suspect.

Bellmead police say that at the time of the accident and when he was arrested,  Griffing was out on bail on charges of agandoning or endangering a child, iminent danger of bodily injury family violoence, resisting arrest and assault strangulation family violence from an incident that occurred in July 2018.
