Belton storage units burglarized, 3 arrested

Three people remain in the Bell County Jail after Belton police stopped an apparent burglary in progress at a set of self storage units.

Police had been called to the storage center in the 2400 block of I-35 at 2:48 p.m. Monday and observed there people they believed were trying to enter the units.

They were all taken into custody at the scene.

Arrested were 33-year-old Jonathan Chipman of Belton, 30-year-old Shannan Spielman of Belton and 40-year-old William Rowell of Salado.

They were all charged with theft, criminal mischief and criminal trespass.

In addition Rowell was also charged with possession of a dangerous drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and was being screened for another felony charge.
