Cameron Park Zoo’s Jim Fleshman has officially resigned from his 18-year post as the zoo’s director.

Fleshman has overseen multiple exhibit expansions, including Brazos River Country and Asian Forest. Under his leadership, the zoo has developed into a world-renowned institution contributing to conservation efforts globally.

Given his and his staff’s accomplishments over the past 18 years, Fleshman feels now is the best time to further his contributions to the zoological field by exploring other options in his career.

In the interim period, Johnny Binder has stepped in to serve as Cameron Park Zoo Director until a permanent replacement can be found.
