‘Click it or Ticket’ now in effect

The Texas Department Transportation is launching their statewide “Click it or Ticket” campaign to urge young drivers and their passengers to wear their seat belts.

One in five car crashes involved a teen driver in 2016. Of the 269 teen drivers and passengers killed in crashes that year, 114 were unbuckled.

All drivers and passengers are required to wear seat belts under Texas law.

If you are not buckled in, even those in the back seat, you will face a fine and court costs up to $200.
