A Connally Independent School District assistant principal is under investigation after being accused of sending an inappropriate picture to a teacher.
That junior high school emloyee has now been placed on paid leave.
The investigation opened up this week after the complaint was made on Monday.
Parents say after almost three days later, it’s the first they’re hearing about it.
We spoke to one parent who didn’t want to be identified, saying she found out about the investigation on Wednesday.
“I mean everybody is human, people do things,” the parent said. “I know quite a few of the staff and teachers and I am shocked somebody would do that.”
District officials say the investigation began after the teacher notified police about the image.
That employee was immediately suspended with pay.
“I absolutely have no idea how they are handling it since I don’t have information but I do agree with putting him on leave to get him away from the school and whoever they were involved with and the children,” the parent said.
Concerned parents in the district say whether or not the allegations are true, they’re glad with how the district is handling things.
“If it was me, I wouldn’t tolerate it,” the parent said. “I would be like, you need to do something. You need to seek another employment or something.”
Since there aren’t any criminal charges set, FOX 44 has decided to not release the name of the teacher at this time.
