Help clean up Texas in the annual Trash-Off

News

The Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-Off encourages Texans across the state to join forces and clear Texas roadsides of trash.

Millions of pieces of litter accumulate on Texas roadways each year, and your help is needed.

Students, business leaders, civic and non-profit organizations, individuals, families, community groups, sororities, fraternities, sports teams and military can all volunteer.

The Trash-Off is the single largest one-day cleanup event in the state and serves as Texas’s signature event for the Great American Cleanup, which is the nation’s largest community improvement program.

The Trash-Off is part of TxDOT’s litter prevention program, which includes Don’t mess with Texas, Adopt-a-Highway and a grassroots partnership with Keep Texas Beautiful.

You can sign up at www.ktb.org, or you can call 1-800-CLEAN-TX (1-800-253-2689). You can find a local clean up event by visiting the Keep Texas Beautiful calendar page. If you’re part of an Adopt-a-Highway (AAH) group, you can contact your district AAH coordinator.
