A major manufacturer of garden hoses and watering projects located in Waco is seeking incentives to make major improvements and create more jobs.
The Waco City Council Tuesday was being asked to consider tax abatements for Swan Products, LLC known ” The Watering Company” in return for investing $3.345 million dollars to install a new product line.
The company from which they lease their facility is also seeking tax abatements for investing $11.1 million dollars in making improvements to the property at 700 Jewell Drive in Waco.
The city would still collect increased tax revenue, with taxes growing to cover the full amount of the improvements over a seven year period.
Swan is also seeking $300,000 in incentive funds from the Waco McLennan County Economic Development Corporation to go toward their part of the improvements, with the city putting up half that amount.
