2 arrested after high speed chase ends in Bryan

The Department of Public Safety reports two men in jail following an overnight high speed pursuit through parts of Burleson and Brazos counties.

DPS spokesman Jimmy Morgan said it started about 10:55 PM during an attempted traffic stop on State Highway 21 near Burleson County Road 164 not far from Caldwell.

The driver of the suspect vehicle sped east on Highway 21, eventually ending up in the city of Bryan.

The driver stopped the vehicle in the 300 block of Carson Drive with the driver and passenger bailing out and fleeing on foot.

Both were eventually chased down and taken into custody.

The driver was identified as Jorge Aguina who was charged with evading in a motor vehicle and evading on foot.

The passenger was charged with evading arrest on foot but was also found to have an outstanding warrant for absconding from parole from the Texas Juvenile Justice Department.

Both were taken to the Burleson County Jail.
