The Department of Public Safety has released the identities of the three people killed in a Friday crash between a van and a pickup in Hill County.

The driver and a passenger in a Dodge pickup pronounced dead at the scene have been identified as 39-year-old Jason Jackson and 35-year-old Vera Jackson respectively, both of Meridian, Texas.

The driver of a Chevrolet van who was later pronounced dead at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco has ben identified as 48-year-old Teresa Hoyt of San Saba,

Several other occupants of the van were transported to Hillcrest with various injuries.

DPS spokesman Ryan Howard says the accident occurred about 3:00 p.m. Friday on State Highway 174 near County Road 1106 south of Blum in Hill County.

Investigating troopers now say they have determined that the Dodge pickup had been going south on Highway 174 when it crossed onto southbound side of the highway and crashed into the Chevrolet van.

The van that was hit and another van accompanying it were from The Father’s House Church in San Saba and were carrying members of a youth group to camp.
