Preparations are underway for the Heart of Texas Airshow this weekend!
The show takes place on April 6th and 7th, and will feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds in their third performance in Waco – as well as the U.S. Air Force F-35 Lightning Two demo team. The event will be loud and full of excitement.
The demo team landed at Texas State Technical College on Thursday afternoon to give us a little demontration of what we can expect.
“We are going to slow it all the way down to basically about 70 miles an hour, and then we’re going to go all the way up to just below the speed of sound and then everything in between. And the maneuverability of the jet is incredible. So we’re going to be doing flat spins that are in complete control. We’re going to be doing drifts through the sky that are 50 degrees angle of attack, and I mean, it’s just an incredible show. You have to see this F-35 perform if you haven’t before.” says U.S. Air Force Captain Andrew Olson.
After the demo, they will pay tribute to the past, present and future of Air Force power by flying alongside a World War II aircraft.
