An argument over driving turned into an charge when a Copperas Cove police officer in a restaurant happened to see a weapon pulled and intervened in the situation.
THe complaint filed in the case indicates the officer was inside the Taco Bell at 1110 East Highway 190 during the noon hour October 31 when he saw two men parked next to each other in the parking lot appearing to be arguing.
He continued to watch the exchange and saw one of the men display a black semi-automatic handgun, bringing it up to his chest and pointing to the side.
In his statement, the officer called dispatch and requested a patrol unit as he went outside to confront the man with the weapon, drawing his service weapon until he saw the man return the weapon to its holster.
As he interviewed the two men, he was told the men were arguing over driving habits during which he was told that the man who later is alleged to have pulled the weapon said ” You want to start something/”
The victim said that was the point where the man, later identified as Noah Seth Metzler is said to have pulled the weapon.
Following an investigation of the incident, a warrant was obtained for Meltzer who was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct, displaying a firearm in public.
He was arrested on Thursday.
