Arrest made in alcohol fueled break in

College Station police say that a man accused of breaking into a home early Wednesday morning and assaulting the residents was ” highly intoxicated.”

Officers had been sent to the 300 block of Cooner Street after getting a report of a burglary.

A resident reported a man had forced his way into the home and began beating those inside.

Police say that one of the residents was finally able to make a 9-1-1 call for help.

When officers arrived,  the man later identified as 21-year-old Gavyn Wayne Freeland of College Station, was still inside the home.

A resident in the home had to be taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

Freeland was taken to the Brazos County Jail and held on a charge of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault.
