Baylor Police are investigating three rapes that all happened at the Russell Residence Hall. All three were added to the Baylor Police Crime Log on January 28.
According to the log, the first rape happened December 2nd. The others took place January 19 and 20.
The log entries also say the three incidents are all related and involve the same individuals. The cases have been referred to Title IX.
Back in August, a female student reported a sexual assault near Russell Residence Hall and the Dutton Parking Garage. She told police the man grabbed her by the wrist, assaulted her, and then ran off.
An email was sent out to South Russell residents saying:
“You may be aware of a Lariat web article today regarding three allegations of rape at South Russell that were reported to have occurred between the same individuals.
“Please be assured that we have assessed the threat and addressed the situation according to our established policies and procedures. Title IX will continue to monitor the situation.
“We take these allegations very seriously, and our firm commitment to our students is to ensure the safety and security of our campus community.
“If you have any safety concerns, please contact your CL or hall director.
“As with all Title IX and student conduct allegations, the details surrounding any allegation are confidential, according to federal privacy laws.
