BELTON, Texas - Belton and Round Rock Police are investigating similar bank robberies just minutes apart.
Police received a call at 3:21 p.m. Monday about a robbery at the Compass Bank located at 313 E Central Avenue.
Reports say a woman, possibly Hispanic, approached a teller at the bank with a note saying she had a weapon and demanded money. Although no weapon was displayed, the teller gave the woman the money she demanded.
The woman left the bank on foot and traveled east towards I-35.
Then just after 4pm, Round Rock Police received a call about a bank robbery at the Wells Fargo at 271 University Oaks Blvd.
Witnesses described a woman who looked like the robber in Belton. Round Rock Police say they are looking at a possible connection. The two banks are just over 30 minutes apart. Here are pictures of both robbers side by side.
There were no injuries in either robbery. If you know anything about either robbery, please call police.
