Blackburn unopposed for Bell Co Judge

BELL COUNTY, TX - With filing deadlines now past, it appears that David Blackburn has drawn no challengers either in the Republican or Democratic Party primaries.

Blackburn is a Republican candidate for the position that is being vacated after current judge Jon Burrows announced he would not be seeking re election.

Blackburn is a past city manager in both Temple and Killeen.

In a statement released Monday Blackburn said,  "I am extremely humbled and honored to be advised that I am the only candidate in Bell County to go unopposed for an open seat for both party Primary elections for the 2018 General Election.  I think this validates what we have been saying since the announcement of my intention to run for the Bell County Judge position ... that my background and experience uniquely qualifies me for the position. "

"I intend to use my time going forward as Bell County Judge-elect continuing to reach out to Bell County residents to learn more about the issues and concerns they have so that I will 'hit the ground running' when the 2018 election results are certified and I am sworn into office. "
