Crash kills woman, sends one to hospital

HILL CO, TX - The Texas Department of Public Safety reports a two vehicle crash on FM 2114, just half a mile west of the City of West ended tragically Saturday at 6:50 pm. 

 A 2012 Ford Mustang was traveling east bound behind a 2000 Ford Ranger pickup. 

The Mustang struck the rear of the Ranger. The Ranger was forced off the roadway and rolled over.  The driver of the Mustang was Amanda Bradford, 46, of Kennedale. 

The passenger in the Mustang was Tony Looper, 48, of White Settlement. 

Both Bradford and Looper ran away from the scene and were later found and taken into custody. 

Bradford was uninjured and Looper was transported to Hill Regional Hospital for minor injuries. 

The driver of the Ranger was Stephen Weinberger, 56, of West. 

Weinberger was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Hillcrest for incapacitating injuries. 

The passenger of the Ranger was Patsy Barnes, 60, of Dale. 

Barnes was pronounced dead at the scene by J.P. Martis Ward. 

Next of kin have been notified.
