Credit union robbery suspect arrested


Waco police and the FBI report a suspect has been arrested in connection with the March 16 robbery of the Educators Credit Union in Waco.

Special Crimes detectives arrested 30-year-old Villobaldo Cienf Solorzano Jr following a joint investigation by Waco police and the FBI

Police say they are thankful for assistance from the community and particularly IBEW Union Local 72.

Police discovered the robber had been wearing one of the local IBEW Union shirts, but has no affiliation with their Local 72.

Police say a man entered the Educators Credit Union at 2400 West Lakeshore Drive around 5:35 p.m. on Friday March 16, presented a note to the teller saying he had a gun and demanding money.

He was last seen running toward North 19th street, escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was injured during the robbery.

He is currently in federal custody.
