DPS seeking hit-and-run vehicle in Milam County auto-pedestrian crash

Department of Public Safety troopers are looking for a gray Honda vehicle and driver that hit a man walking alongside a rural Milam County road Sunday,  then left the victim lying there without stopping to help.

Troopers say it happened about 5:53 p.m. on US Highway 77 about 0.9 miles south of County Road 314.

Investigators say the car was going north and the pedestrian was walking south on the northbound shoulder.

The driver of the Honda pulled off onto the shoulder to allow faster vehicles to pass and hit 34-year-old Victor Gonzalez of Rockdale.

Gonzales was airlifted to St Joseph Hospital in Bryan for treatment.
