Local

An overnight fire couldn’t keep kids out of class at Waco’s Kendrick Elementary.

Firefighters found a small fire in the ceiling light ballast of one of the school’s portable classrooms around 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday night, and put it out.

The total cost of damage is around $60,000. There is no damage to the main school building or other portables.
