Hewitt Police Chief Jim Devlin says a 69-year-old Woodway man was booked into the McLennan County Jail Monday culminating an investigation into an incident reported last October at Woodgate Intermediate School.

Richard Harold Reasor was charged with injury to a child in connection with the incident that involved an 11-year-old male student at the school.

The investigation began when a witness reported seeing a man grab a child and force him to the ground.

School resource officers and administration began and investigation and were able to find another witness who had seen the same incident from inside a building at the school.

The second witness and the child told the same story of him being held, placed on the ground on his stomach with the man’s knee in his back.

Chief Devlin said he did not know what position held with the school district and school officials were not available to fill in other details because of spring break.

Information was also not available on the circumstances that led to the child being restrained.

Reasor posted $5,000 bond on the injury to a child charge the same day he was booked in and released that day.
