Hewitt PD investigating vandalized vehicles

HEWITT, Texas - Hewitt Police are looking for several vandals they say spray painted cars parked in driveways early Sunday morning.

One of the incidents happened on 100 E Chapman Road, near the First United Methodist Church. The second happened on 412 Oxford Hill Drive.

Chief Jim Devlin says their department believes this is part of a bigger rash of vandalism also happening in Waco city limits.

"This is not a $20 criminal mischief. This is something that is probably in the thousands that covers two jurisdictions. And so, it's not a little thing. It's actually a pretty big thing. But ultimately, this is going to end up in arrests for the individuals for criminal mischief."

Investigators are asking anyone in the area with cameras to check them for any suspicious activity between 3:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. They are working with Waco Police to narrow down their suspects.
