Police are looking for a man behind a string of violent robberies in Killeen and Harker Heights. This week, authorities released new video in hopes of catching the crook.
Eddy Khurshid works at Shorty’s on Terrace Drive in Killeen. He says he has been robbed twice in the last week.
“It’s dangerous for my life,” Khurshid said. “He put the mask on but the new guy the second time he robbed me, I could see the face like I didn’t before. I saw everything.”
Khurshid was robbed at gunpoint once the night of Nov. 6 and again two days later.
“I am done for the day, I am going for the close. Then two guys just come at me, went around me, broke stuff up and everything,” Khurshid said. They went through everything you know?”
Killeen Police are now working with Harker Heights Police and DPS to find the man seen on surveillance behind a month-long string of robberies.
“Last month in Killeen, there was one aggravated robbery of a business that took place. To date, we are about two weeks in November and there has already been nine.” Killeen Police Lt. Frank Plowick said. “Most robberies occur in the later hours of the day in convenience stores and similar type businesses. All with low amount of traffic, foot traffic. Typically with a poor visibility from outside of the business to inside.”
Khurshid says he’s at least thankful HD cameras are giving authorities a clearer picture of at least one of the suspects. He’s hoping they will be off the streets soon.
“I need more protection,” Khurshid said. “Especially in the night time, you know?”
