KILLEEN, TX - Friday was a very exciting day for Killeen ISD students as they celebrated the 100th day of school.
First graders in Ms. Doxsey's classroom at Saegert Elementary took it one step further by dressing up like grandparents.
Boys had their suspenders and canes and girls made sure to have their white hair and reading glasses.
Students also wrote their own story about what they imagine life would be like as 100-year-olds.
"Anytime you can make learning come to life for them whether it's dressing up or if it's running a story or having some kind of a real-world experience kids are going to benefit and they're going to remember and I get the feeling that today is going to be one of those days that they're never going to forget," said Jayne Doxsey, 1st grade teacher at Saegert Elementary School.
Starting Monday, students will be counting back from 71 for the remaining 71 days left in this school year.
