Lampasas police have arrested two men after finding them in possession of a credit card skimming device and identifying information for other people.

Wednesday morning about 12:30 a.m. Lampasas police made a traffic stop on a 2000 model Buick passenger car in the 500 block of South Key Avenue.

The driver was identified as 25-year-old Jose Gerardo Chaples-Buzon who listed an address in Las Vegas.

A driver license check revealed that he had active arrest warrants by both the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department and Cedar Park Police for credit or debit card abuse.

A search following his arrest revealed possession of credit or debit cards belonging to other people.

A passenger,  identified as 28-year-old Daniel Alberto Perez-Rodriguez of Austin,  was found in possession of identifying information  including a state-issued drivers license, belonging to other people.

He was also taken into custody.

A search of the car turned up what was believed to be a credit or debit card skimming device.

The men were booked into the Lampasas County Jail.
