COPPERAS COVE, TX - A Copperas Cove man has been arrested on charges he beat and choked a younger man in a Monday incident that sent the victim to the hospital.
Joseph Stanley Cook was arrested on charges of assault of a family member, impeding breathing.
The complaint papers filed in the case report that police were called to a residence in the 4100 block of Wind Cup at 2:53 p.m. Monday on a domestic disturbance call.
When they got there, they found a woman and her 19-year-old son, with the son bleeding from his face, ear and neck, with scratches on hs neck and right arm and bruising on his face, neck, back and arms.
The victim was crying and the woman said her husband had attacked her son, choking him and hitting him in the face.
She said she separated the two and she and her son had gone into the front yard, where they were followed and the son was jumped again.
After further fighting, the older man left the scene in his car.
The victim was treated at the scene by Copperas Cove EMS the transported to Metroplex Hospital.
Police obtained a warrant and Cook was taken into custody Tuesday.
