Bond has been set at $102,000 for a 20-year-old Belton man now formally charged with shooting a woman in the face.
Jose Angel Torres has been charged with aggravated assault of date, family or household member with a deadly weapon.
Torres was already on probation in another case of assault causes bodily injury and criminal mischief from 2017 with motions already filed to revoke the probation he was given in those earlier cases.
Belton police say a 19-year-old woman was shot in the face on Tuesday morning.
The shooting took place at a residence in the 3200 block of the I-14 frontage road, believed to be the suspect’s residence.
Police were called to that location at 10:53 a.m.
The woman was conscious and alert when first responders arrive.
She was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital.
