Marlin man indicted in Temple park shooting

A Bell County Grand Jury has indicted a Marlin man in connection with an April 27th shooting at Wilson Ball Park in Temple.

Deante Amari Spencer was one of two men being sought in the incident and was arrested in June in Marlin.

Police had responded to the park on a report of shots being heard.

When they got there, they found a woman had been sitting in a parked car when two men walked up and demanded she get out of the vehicle.

She told police one of the men pulled on the door handle trying to get in, but the door was locked.

One of the men then pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and fired one shot through the driver’s side window.

The victim received only minor injuries from the glass breaking and cutting her face.

She was checked out by emergency medical personnel at the scene then taken to Baylor Scott & White Hospital for treatment
