One dead in Belton early morning fire

BELTON, TX - Belton police have confirmed that one person has died in a fire in their city early Tuesday morning.

Belton Fire and Police Departments were sent to the 2200 block of the West Highway 190 service road at 4:09 a.m.

Members of Central Bell Volunteers also responded.

The first units to arrive reported a residence fully engulfed.

After the fire was knocked down and firefighters were able to search the structure internally a body was located in the bathroom area of the home.

No identity of the victim was available Tuesday morning.

The fire is being investigated by the Belton Fire and Police Departments and the State Fire Marshal's Office has also been called in.
