ROBERTSON COUNTY, TX - The Department of Public Safety has confirmed 53-year-old man from Jewett was killed in a Thursday morning crash in Robertson County.
A DPS spokesman said the crash occurred about 6:30 a.m. On Highway 7 just east of FM 979.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Jimmy Morgan says a 2015 Mazda driven by Anthony Jamison of Hewitt was eastbound on Highway 7 and had pulled into the west bound lane to pass when he was approached by a 2001 Chevy Silverado coming toward him.
He took evasive action and collided right front to right front with the pickup.
The pickup, driven by John Bianco of Jewett entered the east bound lane and struck an 18-wheeler.
Bianco was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Mazda was not hurt.
His passenger, 57-year-old Linda Jamison of Hewitt was taken to a nearby hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
The highway was closed near the accident scene, about four miles west of Marquez for several hours.
The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation.
