Public candidate forum held in Harker Heights

Local

Bell County voters had the chance to meet some of their candidates on Thursday night, including several who will go head-to-head in the upcoming run-off election.

The League of United Latin American Citizens and the Stars and Stripes Exchange Club hosted the event at the Harker Heights Activity Center.

“It’s a good idea for them to have their one-on-one with them, because they don’t need to be taking people’s second opinions about how they feel about the candidates,” says Mark Hyde, of the Stars and Stripes Exchange Club. “They need to get it directly from the candidate, and the candidate can answer their questions directly.”

The run-off election will be held on May 22.
