WACO, Texas - Reicher Catholic High School is one of many schools who held a walkout on Wednesday, but student organizers say theirs was more of a memorial.
Students and staff walked around the track for 17 minutes, while the names of each person killed on February 14 were called each minute.
Students say they want to see change in the near future, no matter where it is. They want their voices to be heard.
"The people in college right now, the people in high school right now, are our future," says student organizer Haris Siddiq. "These are the people that are going to lead our nation. So it's best to start giving us responsibility now and letting us stand for our own opinions and actions."
