WACO, Texas - The Waco Independent School District hosted an event to promote construction and welding as viable options for long-lasting careers.
The Construction and Welding Expo gave around 400 students an opportunity to see careers in welding, robotics, construction and precision metal.
Several vendors were there to help preview the latest technology in welding and construction.
"We do not have enough people entering these fields, and these fields are well-paying jobs. Jobs that can be starting out at $45, $55, $75,000 a year as a starting salary," says Greater Waco Academies Director Dr. Dale McCall.
There will also be another Construction and Welding Expo next fall.
