Temple apartment residents react to deadly shooting

TEMPLE, TX - Temple police are investigating the shooting incident that left one man dead and another one injured.

The incident happened Saturday morning around 4 at the Glen Apartments.

Since this is an officer involved shooting, the Texas Rangers are investigating.

No officers were injured in this.
Fox 44 spoke with the residents and one woman who wishes to remain anonymous says, "I haven't had any problems ever, no one has ever burglarized me or I never felt like I was in danger."

But now the woman - who is a mother worries about who lives next door.

She says, "For them to shoot at the cops and that type of nature it is definitely drug related."

The parent says cheap rent is not worth her child's safety.

"Do I have to worry about my safety? Well I can't live in a safe area because they are so expensive."

The officers say the two men involved in the shooting didn't know each other.

The mother described to Fox 44 what she woke up to. "I saw that the cops were putting a yellow tape and that there was a van, a police van and a whole bunch of cops."

She says, "There are always a few bad apples in a barrel that make things bad for everybody else."

The two officers are now on a paid administrative leave.
At this point the identities of the two men haven't been released.
