When officers responded to the corner of Bosque Boulevard and Colonial Avenue they learned that a man had already gone to the hospital via private car where he was pronounced dead.

A police statement said that a second person involved in the shooting stopped one of their officers at the Freebirds Restaurant on New Road and told officers that he had received a gunshot wound in that incident as well.

He was taken to the hospital for treatement.

The Waco Police Department’s Special Crimes Investigators Unit and Crime Scene Technicians responded to the scene, as well as an AMR and the Waco Fire Department for medical purposes.

Waco Fire Department personnel did check out two family members of one of the shooting victims who were not shot but who had reported having difficulty breathing and complained of chest pains.
