Waco detective retires, becoming MCC chief

WACO, TX - Waco police announce that a detective with 24 year service to the department is retiring and will become the new police chief at McLennan  Community College.

Det. Williams began his Law enforcement career in 1984 at the age of 18, with McGregor
Police Department. He went on to Gatesville Police Department in 1988 where he was awarded a Medal of Valor and eventually came to Waco PD in November of 1993.

Clayton served in the Waco Patrol Division, a SWAT officer for 15 years, them moved to the detective division in 2003.

Among numerous commendations was a lifesaving award presented in 2004.

He was nominated for Detective of the year in 2014.

 He is  a Master Peace Officer, Firearms Instructor, Taser Instructor, worked on the Waco PD Dignitary Protection detail, and is an  Active Shooter Instructor.
