Waco police arrest teen on terrorist threat charge

Waco police arrested a teenage boy Thursday morning on accusations he made terroristic threats against students of Vanguard College Preparatory School.

Officers first went to the school on Mount Carmel Drive Tuesday after school reported the student made a threat.

The student is accused of saying he would get a gun and shoot up the school.

Vanguard leaders expelled the student from the school.

Waco PD will not release the boy's name due to his age.

Police spokesman Patrick Swanton says the department, "does not and will not take threats such as these lightly.  Any and all threats towards our community, especially towards our schools, their staff and/or students will be thoroughly investigated. If probable cause is determined, ARRESTS WILL BE MADE."
