Woman accused of exposing kids to danger

WACO, TX - A 28-year-old woman has been charged with three counts of abandoning or endangering a child, accused of leaving three children in the care of a man who had attempted suicide on several occasions and of not contacting police after incidents of violence.

Kimberly Lara Nabors was booked into the McLennan County Jail on Wednesday.

Her boyfriend was accused in the arrest affidavit of picking one of the children up and throwing her on the ground, causing her back and head to hit the ground in an incident  April  13, 2018.

The affidavit says that Nabors was called at her job by one of her children telling of an incident in which the child was squeezed so hard she could not breathe.

Nabors was accused of taking fifty minutes to go home from work after getting the call, then made no attempt to call law enforcement.

Court records quote investigators as saying interviews with some of the children provided information on violent behavior on the part of the boyfriend.

The boyfriend was identified as Jacob Laskowski

Laskowski was arrested a few days later after an incident in the parking lot at McLennan Community College.

An MCC police officer had spotted smoke coming from a car  and after assistance arrived, found Laskowski in the trunk and his two year old daughter inside the car.
