Waco police Tuesday morning arrested a 50-year-old woman in connection with a 2016 hit and run accident that left a bicyclist dead.

Tammy Blankenship Harlen was arrested on charges of failure to stop and render aid causing death shortly after 11:00 a.m.

She was charged in connection with the October 6, 2016 crash that resulted in the death of 19-year-old David Grotberg.

Police say Grotberg was riding his bicycle in the 3200 block of Franklin Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle that left the scene.

Grotberg was a Baylor University student from Fergus Falls, Minnesota.

Emergency personnel arriving after the accident gave emergency treatment to Grotberg at the scene but he died later at a local hospital.

Witnesses told police a white vehicle left the scene going toward downtown Waco after the crash.
