Woman beaten in Bellmead motel


A 40-year-old Fairfield man was being held in the McLennan County Jail following a weekend incident in which a woman was beaten up in a Bellmead motel room.

Harold Ingalls was held on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two Freestone County warrants for assault causes bodily injury family violence and interference with a request for emergency assistance.

Bellmead police were called to the motel in the 700 block of North IH-35 Access Road at 11:56 p.m. Sunday on a report of someone hearing a woman screaming for help.

On arrival, officers found Ingalls along with a 25-year-old female victim with whom he had been in  a relationship.

Officers noticed injuries to the womans head and arms and were told that she had been hit, kicked and bitten.

The victim also told officers she had been threatened with a knife.

An ambulance was called and the woma was treated for her injuries and Ingalls was taken to jail.
